The Programme
At The School of Herbal Medicine the Advanced Diploma in Herbal Medicine takes six years — significantly longer than most courses — because becoming a genuinely competent medical herbalist requires it. You cannot shortcut clinical confidence.
From year one, you train in our working patient clinic. You study materia medica, pharmacy, herbal therapeutics, anatomy and physiology, and clinical skills — all taught in person by practising herbalists.

Entirely In-Person Teaching
Unlike most medical herbalism courses, all our teaching takes place in person. No online compromise. Two days per month, plus a five-day Easter School.

Our programme covers every dimension of clinical herbal practice — from the science of plant constituents to patient consultation, physical examination, and prescribing.
Our Student Clinic
Our reduced-cost student clinic at 28 Angel Crescent, Bridgwater offers professional herbal consultations supervised by a qualified clinical herbalist. Every appointment supports both patient health and student training.
Patients pay a reduced fee because students observe or assist under supervision — so you receive expert care and help train the next generation of herbalists.
